We are seeking a visionary technology leader to define and drive the long-term Field Intelligence strategy within our Sales & Merchandising (S&M) business. This role sits at the intersection of data, technology, and commercial execution, responsible for transforming complex data ecosystems into actionable intelligence that delivers measurable business impact, competitive advantage, and sustainable growth.
The successful incumbent will provide strategic leadership in shaping a global technology roadmap, ensuring that data, AI, and emerging technologies are effectively translated into practical tools that empower field teams and enhance client decision-making.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Field Sales & Merchandising Technology Strategy and Roadmap
- Define and maintain a 3-year technology vision and delivery roadmap aligned to the FS&M growth strategy.
- Establish and lead the global Field Intelligence strategy for S&M, ensuring clear prioritisation, sequencing, funding logic, and regional alignment.
- Drive the evolution from descriptive reporting to directive intelligence that enables faster, smarter decision-making for field teams and clients.
- Act as senior technology advisor to vertical and regional leadership on platform risk, architecture decisions, delivery trade-offs, and investment prioritisation.
Market Trends and Industry Innovation
- Monitor global trends in retail execution, field sales enablement, and Point-of-Purchase (POP) intelligence, including AI, image recognition, augmented reality, IoT, and adjacent technologies.
- Identify capability gaps, competitor movements, and emerging innovation trends, translating these into strategic recommendations.
- Maintain a strong external lens on best practice, innovation pathways, and product opportunities within field intelligence and retail execution.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong experience in data architecture, data engineering, and analytics platforms(cloud-based preferred: Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, including predictive analytics, computer vision, and intelligent automation.
- Experience with BI and visualisation tools(e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of data integration, APIs, and enterprise data ecosystems.
- Experience working with big data technologies(e.g., Databricks, Spark, Snowflake or equivalent).
- Understanding of retail execution, field sales systems, or merchandising platforms strongs highly advantageous.
- Strong grasp of solution architecture, system design, and enterprise scalability principles.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies strongnd product-led technology environments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field(Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years’ experience in technology leadership roles, ideally within data, analytics, or enterprise platforms.
- Proven track record of defining and delivering technology roadmaps in complex, global environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across data, engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in translating data and AI capabilities into commercial business value.
- Experience in retail, FMCG, field sales, or merchandising environments is highly desirable.
