Job Details

We are seeking an experienced System Engineer with a strong background in Microsoft technologies to develop, enhance, and support enterprise software solutions. This position combines software engineering, automation, quality assurance, and operational support to deliver reliable, scalable applications that support business-critical processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building robust applications, driving automation initiatives, improving software quality, and contributing to a modern DevOps delivery model. Working closely with development, infrastructure, QA, and business teams, you will play an active role throughout the software development lifecycle while ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies and C#.
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable software components and services.
• Create and support RESTful APIs and backend integrations.
• Build and maintain automation solutions to improve software delivery and operational efficiency.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts, with Selenium experience considered beneficial.
• Integrate automated testing into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows using Azure DevOps.
• Manage and execute test activities through Azure Test Plans or equivalent test management platforms.
• Produce high-quality, maintainable code supported by unit, integration, and automated testing.
• Investigate application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Provide production support, including troubleshooting, system optimisation, and issue resolution.
• Participate in solution design sessions, technical reviews, and peer code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver business solutions aligned with project objectives.
• Ensure development activities comply with organisational governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate experience in most of the following:

• C# and .NET/.NET Core application development.
• Development of RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Automated testing using Selenium or similar frameworks.
• Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Azure Test Plans or comparable test management tools.
• Automation development, scripting, or process automation.
• Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database platforms.
• Source control systems such as Git.
• Software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
• Agile software delivery and DevOps methodologies.

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years' professional software development experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Practical experience implementing software automation and quality engineering practices.
• Previous experience within financial services or other highly regulated industries will be advantageous.
