Change Manager 

A leading higher education institution is undertaking a strategic digital transformation initiative to modernise its Postgraduate and Research environments. The project aims to replace manual, paper-based processes with a streamlined digital framework that supports the entire postgraduate lifecycle, enhancing efficiency, user experience, and adoption across the institution.

To support this transformation, we are seeking an experienced Change Manager to lead all change management activities associated with the implementation of a new Postgraduate Digital Platform. This role will focus on ensuring organisational readiness, stakeholder engagement, user adoption, and the successful realisation of project benefits.

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop, own, and execute the end-to-end change management strategy and implementation plan for the Postgraduate Digital Platform project.

•    Conduct stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, and change readiness evaluations to inform and guide change interventions.

•    Design and implement practical change management tools and resources, including communication plans, stakeholder maps, feedback mechanisms, and adoption frameworks.

•    Assess organisational readiness for change and proactively identify and address potential resistance.

•    Support the delivery of stakeholder engagement initiatives and communications to ensure all impacted groups remain informed and prepared throughout the transition.

•    Collaborate closely with project teams to embed change management activities into the overall project plan and delivery timeline.

•    Develop and implement training and support programmes to equip users with the knowledge and skills required to effectively adopt the new platform.

•    Define adoption and change success metrics and provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and mitigation actions to project leadership.

•    Guide managers in identifying and empowering change champions across departments.

•    Partner with line management and Human Resources teams to identify organisational design and development requirements.

•    Continuously evaluate change management approaches and identify opportunities for improvement based on lessons learned and stakeholder feedback.

Required Skills and Experience

•    Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a dedicated Change Management role.

•    Demonstrated experience leading change management strategies and workstreams within complex projects.

•    Current Foundation-Level certification in a recognised Change Management methodology (e.g. Prosci or equivalent).

•    Proven ability to establish and mature change management capabilities within project environments.

•    Strong understanding and practical application of formal change management methodologies and frameworks.

•    Experience designing and implementing change management strategies, plans, toolkits, and adoption programmes.

•    Sound knowledge of project delivery methodologies, with experience working in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments.

•    Experience conducting change impact assessments and organisational readiness evaluations.

•    Training design, development, and facilitation experience.

•    Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

•    HR and/or Organisational Development experience will be advantageous.

•    Experience working on large-scale, complex, and interdependent projects.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess either:

•    A Bachelor's Degree in Organisational Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field;

OR

•    Relevant and current Change Management certifications such as Prosci, APMG Change Management, CMI Accreditation, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP™), or equivalent credentials aligned with recognised Change Management standards and bodies of knowledge.

Additional advantages include:

•    Experience delivering change management initiatives for large-scale technology implementation projects.

•    Previous experience within higher education, research, public sector, or similarly complex environments.
