Enterprise Architect
We currently have a full-time onsite opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to come on board with our client based in Bryanston. This role sits at the intersection of Business, Data, and Technology, acting as the critical “glue” that integrates complex, interconnected systems across diverse and often challenging environments.
Their technology ecosystem spans: cloud platforms, infrastructure (various locations), field sensors, and offline systems operating under intermittent connectivity. This complexity requires an EA who is not only strategic, but also hands-on and therefore someone who can design architecture, write code where needed, and ensure systems remain secure, scalable, and resilient.
You will bridge the gap between technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, ensuring that systems work seamlessly together across LAN, WAN, and cloud environments.
Direct Stakeholders:
- Technology Management
- Business Intelligence (BI) Team
- Audit & Risk Teams
- Technology Vendors and Partners
Responsibilities:
- Define architecture models across Business, Data, Applications, and Technology domains (TOGAF-aligned)
- Design secure, scalable data flows, including offline “store-and-forward” Architectures
- Implement monitoring, governance, and network/device management solutions
- Ensure integration across hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, remote systems)
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, processes, and conformance through OLAs
- Lead cybersecurity audits, remediation efforts, and vendor coordination
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and change control across Azure, servers, and central platforms
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture diagrams (logical, physical, virtual)
- Implement and govern data warehouse (DWH) architecture, including Medallion (Bronze layer) pipelines
- Drive unified data governance, including data cataloging, classification, lineage, and security (DLP)
- Implement compliance and risk frameworks (eDiscovery, Insider Risk, Data Lifecycle Management)
- Establish API integration standards, error handling, and system interoperability
- Define RASCI frameworks for internal teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
- Ensure disaster recovery (DRP) and business continuity (BCP) planning and testing for Tier 1 systems
- Support identity and access management (SSO, MFA, privileged access controls)
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure integration capabilities and contractual compliance
Key Deliverables will include:
- Enterprise Architecture diagrams and documentation
- Data governance and DWH architecture frameworks
- API and integration standards
- Network and monitoring standards (WAN, LAN, VPN, WWAN)
- Error management and reporting frameworks
Essential Requirement:
- TOGAF certification (essential)
- Proven experience across the four EA domains: Business, Data, Applications, Technology
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Honours advantageous)
- 3–5 years’ experience as an Enterprise Architect
- 3–5 years’ experience in Azure-based environments
- Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-400; AZ-204 advantageous; DP-203/DP-300 beneficial)
- Strong understanding of APIs, data integration, and database systems
- Ability to write/configure integration code (e.g., Python, API interfaces, queries)
- Experience with cloud data storage and transfer (Azure preferred)
- Strong documentation skills (BRS, FRS, TDD, SDKs, DRP, BCP, SOPs)
