We are looking for an experienced Trading Systems Support / Business Analyst to join a Global Markets technology environment.

The role will focus on supporting and maintaining existing trading systems, identifying opportunities to improve processes, and working closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver solutions that support trading teams and improve operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will combine business analysis, financial markets knowledge and technology support to ensure that trading systems remain stable, effective, secure and aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective support to trading and business teams and help maintain a stable production environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes, systems and operational efficiency.
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
• Support business continuity by contributing to robust and sustainable solutions.
• Participate in projects in a specialist or consulting capacity throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure trading systems are configured and operating effectively and contribute to continuous improvements.
• Analyse and resolve system and operational issues and document troubleshooting and recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain system support documentation, procedures and policies.
• Support knowledge transfer, training and effective handover to relevant support teams.
• Assist with the security and regulatory compliance of trading systems.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with technical teams, business stakeholders and other delivery areas.
• Elicit, analyse and validate requirements for changes to trading systems.
• Participate in change processes and collaborate with multiple technology and business teams.
• Analyse data and business processes to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Communicate complex technical and business information effectively to stakeholders.
• Share knowledge, industry trends and best practices with the wider team.

Key Experience & Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

• 2–3 years' experience supporting trading systems, preferably within a financial services or banking environment.
• Experience working within Global Markets / Financial Markets.
• Understanding of the Markets value chain, including Trading, Treasury, Sales, Operations, Finance and Market Risk.
• Knowledge of FX and Money Markets products.
• Understanding of financial markets and instruments.
• Understanding of finance fundamentals, including:
  • Time/value of money
  • Cash flows
  • Discounting
  • Curve valuation
  • P&L concepts
• Experience in business analysis and requirements elicitation.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working across cross-functional technology and business teams.
• Experience participating in projects and change initiatives.
• Ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative information and evaluate complex business problems.
• Experience with SQL and data analysis.
• Understanding of governance, risk and controls.
• Knowledge of relevant financial-services regulatory requirements.
• Strong documentation and process-management skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

Essential:

A relevant qualification in one of the following areas:

• BSc Computer Science / IT / Mathematics / Engineering / Statistics
• BCom Information Systems / Finance / Investments
• BTech IT / Engineering / Mathematics / Business Analytics

Advantageous:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who can operate comfortably between Markets business users and technology teams. You should be able to understand trading-system requirements, investigate operational issues, analyse processes, identify improvements and communicate solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience supporting live trading environments, together with knowledge of FX, Money Markets and financial-market products, will be particularly valuable.
